Hello!
We've just been overwhelmed with dogs! They're all so cute but we need to find them homes! A few of them have healthy problems, but they're easily fixable, and there's only about three. We have one sweetpea with a broken pelvic bone (she was hit by a car). Another, Chongo, has a broken leg. Stickers is recovering from heartworm (yes, he did have treatment), and several of our newer pups have kennel cough (which is easily curable
). We jsut hope to find the homes soon. More pics will be posted ASAP!
Thanks!

Sorry it's been so long since our last post! We've been so busy! Jenuary is just that one moth of the year that's overwhelming. Hopefully ya'll have been keeping on top of things fine.
We've adopted out quite a few dogs since our last post. There's not much to say, because we've gotta get off to go do something else (yes-even this late!). We'll be sure to keep every thing more update once january is over! The "adopted dogs" section is under renovation because we had some problems with it. It'll be back up and running soon. Eventually.

Here's one of our favourites!
Here’s another one of those easy peanut butter dog treat recipes. And they can be made in a pinch since all 5 of these ingredients are ones that are usually on hand.
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 TBSP baking powder
1 cup peanut butter (smooth only, please)
1 cup milk
1/2 cup oatmeal
Directions:
Start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees and lightly greasing a baking or pizza pan.
In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder and oatmeal. Once that’s mixed, add the peanut butter and milk. Stir it together until a dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, knead it and then roll it out until it’s about a 1/4″ thick. Break out your cute bone-shaped cookie cutters or a pizza cutter and cut the dough into the desired size and shape.
Bake those on the lightly greased baking pan and cook for about 20 minutes or until they’re golden brown.
Once cool, let your favorite pup enjoy before storing them in an airtight jar (or resealable freezer bag).

It seems that ever since a lady came to our house and told us she wanted to do a feature article of us in a magazine that we've gotten a lot more people asking about dogs! I'm sure being accepted to Petfinder helped a lot too! But Wow, we've been busy. As I type this, Bruiser is being adopted into his forever home! The new owners were introduced to us through the lady writing the article. Her name is Yolanda, and we'll post a link to her website on our resources page. She's writing a chihuahua magazine set to be released in May, and we're super psyched about it
We hope to get more doggies into forever homes soon!

Happy thanksgiving to everyone from us here at Chi Dogs San Antonio! We're pround to say that Papi now has a home! Yay! Things have been just as busy as normal, although we're starting to get some of our training methods down. We found a thing that's like a cloth diaper for house training. You put it on the pup while they're inside, and if they tinkle the diaper catches it and holds it against the doggie's tuummy. They don't liek that wet feeling, so they learn quickly to only pee outside, when they aren't wearing the diaper. I suggest picking one up if you're having issues! Good luck with your potty training endeavors, and happy holidays!

Whew! It sure has been busy lately! Lots of dogs in our house, as we're taking care of a friend's dogs. Hopefully y'all have been well! With the holidays coming up, we're looking forward to all sorts of baking here at Chi Dogs SA. Hopefully that include some baking for the babies! We just finished another double batch of p-nutter treats, with cheese this time. It's like they're in love all over again. Maybe we can try some other treats when we pull the baking stuff out. Who knows! Until then, we're gonna work as hard as we can to get some dogs moving. Pet Finder called us tonight to confirm us as a shelter!!! We're really excited about that!!! Pet finder is one of the leading pet adoption sites. We've posted a link to Pet Finder on our resources page, in case you aren't sure what that is. Please let us know if you have any othe rSan Antonio pet adoption sites! (besides SA classified, online and news, adopt a pet, craigslist, and petfiner). Thanks!

Hey fellow Chi lovers!
Hope all is well! Here at CDSA, life's been pretty good. We've been baking biscuits galore, and now that there are no concerning outstanding health issues, life is just that much easier.
Anywho, we're working on getting some more pups moved! So far, Charlie's got himself a home (althought we're still holding him, as his new owners are getting married) and Gabby might have a home (not sure yet). Zeus is now potty trained, and seems to be doing well. Bruiser is doing great, and he is almost fully recovered from his heart worm. He's been neutered and had his teeth fixed. Papi and Tigger are, well, Papi and Tigger! Their usual rambunctious selves! Chiquita had been a doll, as usual. She's sort of picked up on the not pottying inside. She gets up when she knows she has to go, and sort of looks at you expectantly, waiting for you to let her out. Paco is being Paco, and recently had his teeth fixed.
Aside from the pups, CDSA itself is doing pretty awesome. We totally revamped the website (for those of you whom haven't visited our website previously, you aren't missing much). We also posted a bucnh of new ads on craigslist, and we registered with two very large pet adoption sites (Petfinder and AdoptAPet), Hopefully they accept our application! We'll just have to wait and see. Well, it's rather late, so off to bed now. Good night! And thanks so much for the support guys!!!! It really means a lot!!!
XO CDSA
